குறிப்புகள் இல்லை என்றால் அது காதலே இல்லை! தலைவன், தலைவி பரஸ்பரம் குறிப்பு உணர்துதலும், உணர்தலும், தோழிக்கு குறிப்பால் அறிவிப்பதும் காதல் இருபதற்கும், வளர்வதற்கும் சிறந்த அறிகுறிகள்.  காதலின் முதல் தருணங்களில் குறிப்புகளே காதல்!

“மையிட்ட உன் கண்கள் ஒரு பார்வையால் என்னக்குள் ஏக்கம் என்னும் நோயை தந்துவிட்டு, மறு பார்வையாலேயே அந்த நோய்க்கு அழைப்பு எனும் மருந்தும் தருகின்றன.” என்னும் பொருள் பட உள்ளது இந்த குறள்.

‘சினிமாத்தனம்’ ஒன்றும் புதிதல்ல என்பதற்கு இந்த குறள் ஒரு எடுத்துக்காட்டு! ஆயினும், உலகில் காதல் வயப்பட்ட எவரும் உணர்ந்த உண்மையே இதில் உள்ளது.

Melodrama and hyperbole in love s not the preserve of the movies.  As the kural shows, it has always been expected of lovers the world over!
