ஒரு ஒற்றன் கூறிய தகவலை முழுதுமாய் நம்பாமல் அதை இன்னொறு ஒற்றன் மூலமாய் வந்த செய்தியையும் வைத்து ஒப்பிட்டு பார்த்துவிட்டு அதை ஊர்ஜிதம் செய்த பிறகே அதை நம்ப வேண்டும்.  இது நாமே அறியும் ஒற்றுக்கும் பொருந்தும்.

This chapter is about the importance of espionage for kings.  This specific kural talks about how to it is important to independently verify information.  A fairly straight forward kural, it says that an information that is elicited by one spy should be compared to information supplied by a different source and then accepted as valid.  Some interpretations also say that this validation should also be performed for information that a spy collects by his own efforts  before being forwarded. 

In today’s corporate world, this applies, in my opinion, to information that reaches us either about the internal organization or the external world. Taken in conjunction with the idea that there may be people planted into the organization explicitly for disinformation, this is a very important validation step.  It is not about trusting a source but about validating a datum.
